Lisa Jonsson received her Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. She brings over 16 years of clinical experience working with individuals and couples from a psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, humanistic and family systems approach. Lisa provides a safe, nurturing space where clients are empowered to achieve their maximum potential. She has an extensive background in grief, trauma, substance treatment, stress reduction, and workplace solutions. Lisa brings a multi-cultural perspective to her practice as a bi-lingual/bi-cultural English/Spanish counselor. She also speaks conversational French.
Her previous years as a Human Resources professional, allowed her the opportunity to consult with management on various employee relations issues and train all levels of employees on topics such as sexual harassment, violence in the workplace, and effective communication. She continues training employees and created modules on “Managing Grief In the Workplace” and Suicide Awareness.” She has served as a guest speaker on the topic of family divorce for KVEA Spanish television.
Lisa has received Certification in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and is the author of “If I’m in treatment, will I lose my job? The guide for the employee seeking recovery.”
